愛媛大学　沿岸環境科学研究センター　分子生態・保健研究室（​渡辺幸三研究室）
Utilizing genome analysis, the following research initiatives are being undertaken with a focus on Southeast and South Asia, aiming to contribute to ecosystem conservation and One Health（ゲノム解析を活用して、東南・南アジアを中心に生態系保全やワンヘルスに資する以下の研究を展開）

  1. Biodiversity: Evaluating biodiversity and gaining insights into the evolutionary processes of organisms (aquatic insects, sea cucumbers, fish, bacteria) in aquatic environments, alongside analyzing environmental DNA.（1. 生物多様性：水環境中の生物（水生昆虫・ナマコ・魚、細菌）や環境DNAの生物多様性の評価や進化の理解）
  2. Mosquito-borne Diseases: Developing methods for ecological control of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever and malaria in tropical and subtropical countries.（2. 蚊媒介感染症：熱帯・亜熱帯におけるデング熱・マラリアなどの蚊媒介感染症の生態学的制御）
  3. Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR): Examining the emergence and transmission of antibiotic resistance genes across wide environments including hospitals, livestock, aquaculture, and aquatic environments.（3. 薬剤耐性菌：病院、家畜、養殖魚から水環境に至るまでの薬剤耐性遺伝子の発生と伝播に関する研究）
  4. Environmental Viruses: Enabling the early detection of both known and novel pathogenic viruses in sewage, coupled with using phage therapy to control pathogenic bacteria.（4. 環境ウイルス：下水中の既知＆未知の病原性ウイルスの早期検出と、ファージ療法による病原性細菌の制御）

2024.07.18-23 ​Prof. Watanabe gave a keynote lecture, and Kenneth and Arata gave oral and poster presentations at the 53rd National Convention and Scientific Meeting of the Philippine Society for Microbiology, held at De La Salle University in Bacolod City, Iloilo, Philippines. We also organized the Joint Symposium on OMICs Application and its Insights in Mosquitoes at De La Salle University Manila/  フィリピンのイロイロ市にあるデ・ラサール大学バコロッド校で開催されたフィリピン微生物学会第53回全国大会で渡辺教授が基調講演、KennethとArataは口頭およびポスター発表を行いました。また、デ・ラサール大学マニラ校でオミクスアプリケーションと蚊に関する考察に関する合同シンポジウムを共同で開催しました。【see NEWS】

2024.04.01  Prof. Watanabe's educational department responsibility for lectures and research supervision at Ehime Uni has changed from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering to the Biology Course in the Faculty of Science. His primary affiliation remains the Center for Marine Environmental Studies (CMES).　渡辺教授が愛媛大学で講義と研究指導を担当する教育部局が工学部の土木・環境分野から理学部の生物学コースに変わりました。主所属は沿岸環境科学研究センター（CMES）のままです。
