I am a researcher specializing in metagenomics with a focus on the detection and environmental fate of antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs). My work investigates the dissemination of ARGs from hospital wastewater systems into downstream surface water environments, aiming to better understand the dynamics of resistance spread across interconnected ecosystems.
Using a comprehensive suite of computational genomics and bioinformatics tools, I analyze complex metagenomic datasets to characterize resistomes, assess microbial community structure, and track the persistence and mobility of resistance determinants. My research integrates high-throughput sequencing, advanced data analytics, and environmental microbiology to generate insights into ARG transmission pathways and associated public health risks. Through interdisciplinary approaches combining environmental science, microbiology, and computational biology, I contribute to advancing our understanding of antimicrobial resistance in aquatic environments and support the development of evidence-based mitigation strategies.
