Regarding Japanese Government (MEXT) University Recommendation Applications: Unable to Accept Additional Candidates

I have received a very large number of inquiries and applications — several hundred so far this year— from prospective students wishing to apply with me as their prospective academic supervisor. I sincerely appreciate your interest in my laboratory and research activities.

I also apologize that I have not been able to respond to each inquiry individually.

However, the number of available slots for the University Recommendation category is very limited, and I have already selected the candidates whom I will support for application through this route. Therefore, I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept additional candidates for the MEXT University Recommendation application.

I kindly ask you to consider other options, such as applying through the Embassy Recommendation category, or seeking scholarship opportunities available in your own country.

In addition, when doctoral student or postdoctoral researcher positions funded by research projects become available, we will announce them on the MECOH Lab' website and Facebook page. Please consider applying for such opportunities when they are advertised.
